Sometimes is seems sessions that are scheduled, then rained out, then rescheduled, then humiditied out, then rescheduled… and on.. and on.. and on… turn out SOOOOO amazing. And then it makes me think…. if this session happened on it’s originally scheduled date… we wouldn’t have THESE images.
This is one of the FIRST images from this session:
When this happens.. I just KNOW it’s going to be great! Ha ha ha! This was IMMEDIATELY afterwards!.jpg)
The day of this session there were scattered Thunderstorms. We seriously eyed the satellite images, called friends downtown, decided to meet 30 minutes later… and then decided to just go with it and see what happened. Well, it POURED… DOWNPOUR seconds before this session started. There was mud, puddles… and Jack was wearing white pants. And mom, I learned, does not love dirt!
But, I’m telling you… she was a trooper!!! ![]()
I’d met Layla before… once. Her mommy, Babette, is actually the owner/creator of Frame-Love, one of the two framing companies I use! Layla was super shy when I picked up my frames! So I wasn’t sure what to expect on our session. THIS…right out of the gate? Not what I expected, but I sure was thrilled!.jpg)
I loved how she “modeled” for me! I was cracking up the whole time at her poses! And they are my favorite kind because they truly showcase LAYLA!![]()
And I’d been ‘warned” that Jack was a silly boy! And he surely is… and OH so adorable! I love his face in this SO much!
nice, right?
I’d had my eye on this location for QUITE some time. As I drive around, I’m pretty much always noticing super fabulous locations… sometimes they are just a small patch on the corner of a road, a median strip (Too bad that’s dangerous! HAHA!), little alleys. Whatever! This one I held off on… I don’t know why! But it is now, probably, one of my favorites. SO SO SO many possibilies! And the kids had SO much fun choosing “spots” for their pictures!![]()
I think they pretty much nailed it on outfit choice! And RANDOM white rocking chairs, too! Heaven! I am also in love with Layla in the above picture! … well, and the one below too!![]()

There is nothing like sibling love… NOTHING!

I love these… SO much. Like, so much I want some like this of MY fam!![]()

Ok, so I pretty much love this whole session! HOW FUN IS THIS!

And Jack… again. How sweet is he! If I recall correctly, I told Babette that I thought he’d get lots of ladies when he’s a little older… he’s just so sweet, charming, and silly. And that is an AMAZING combination!
This is going to sound weird…. but… sometimes, I think that hair kinda showcases personalities. Like, for my kids… Sage has straight hair.. and she is more “by the book” or “straight and narrow”… and Bry and Chase, meanwhile, with their curly mops… they are more free=spirited. (Rowen.. not to sure yet.. about his hair, at least).
Layla kinda proves my weird point![]()

maybe she has some modeling in her future?
One more of each of the cuties alone
Because I want to make this the longest blog post ever! Or because I can’t help it!

Like I said, this location blew… me… away! I am SO happy I went with my little instinct, and that Babette and Matt were as happy with it as I was!

How fun is that one???
So each family session I do, I try to take a picture of the parents together. Just them. They transform from “mom and dad” into, in this case… Babette and Matt: The Couple. And They are SO in love still.. and I love that!

Dancing in the street should be part of everyone’s life… at LEAST once!

And the puddles I mentioned earlier?

Pretty much the PERFECT way to end a session, don’t you think?
If you made it all the way down here… GREAT!
I hope you super enjoyed these. If so, let me know! A crazy thing about us photographers… we LOVE feedback!
Babette, Matt, Layla and Jack… I SO hope you love these!
